About Us

Can you really tell the difference with the two above?

When one person believes fairy tales that violate all of the known laws of reality, it is called insanity. When a whole population believe the same thing, it is called religion. Yet, they are one in the same.

Diagnosis: Religion Gone Crazy

Definition: A mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, facts and falsehoods, to think logically or rationally, to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations that call for control of one’s sanity.

Symptoms:

  • Magical thinking
  • False beliefs or thoughts that have nothing to do with reality (delusions)
  • Hearing, seeing, or feeling things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Delusions of persecution or grandeur
  • Child-like (regressive) behavior
  • Delusions – A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence
  • Hallucinations

Treatment: A person (and/or society) that cannot distinguish reality from illusion dies. Therefore, Love thy Lord, Jesus, Allah, or whatever deity you so choose, but go throughout your life in complete craziness (and don’t be surprised when the real world comes crashing down around you).

First off, welcome! Second, we love the religious! We just think they can be kinda crazy sometimes. Well ok, pretty much most of the time it seems.

You see, this site was created because we observed – on an almost daily occurrence – how one can find numerous examples showing just how “crazy” some of the religious can be in their actions, views, thinking, and opinions. Even the moderates who keep to themselves we find to be crazy. For example, if you think God talks to you and praying really works, well there’s a couple of reasons as to why they’re just as crazy as the religious extremists. But overall, why does it seem like the religious are on a one-way commuter train to Crazy Town?

What we noticed and find odd is the religious crazies usually receive no repercussions or negative connotation placed on them by the majority of society. You see, if a crazy statement is made by anyone else who is non-religious or not under the guise of religion, or say who is truly mentally-ill, the men in white coats would appear, place the crazy person in a straight jacket, and they would be placed into a padded room until the stabilizing medications kicked in. Yet, when backed by religion, you can say and/or do all the lunatic things you want – it’s considered still sane, still in reality, still respected in this society.

At times we find the claims of the religious to be in good fun, such hilarious comedy, and others frightening horror stories. Yet, you can’t take it all too seriously now, can you? We mean, these people are kinda crazy, well maybe even coo coo, and sometimes completely insane, right? Perhaps we should take it more seriously, for those that cannot distinguish reality from illusion are bound to eventually take down the rest of us who are sane. But that idea can be contemplated by the reader for a later time.

Anyhow, we have no shortage of material to add to this site. In fact it’s hard to stay caught up with all the craziness coming out of the religious coffers. With what we have posted so far it seems: “We have only touched the tip of God’s longest white beard whisker” as the saying goes!

For the most part, you will not find RGC giving commentary on the posts, or on comments from the wackos, for we feel the information or the comment given really speaks for itself. Besides, we would rather have you come to your own conclusions based on the information in front of you. You may not agree that religion is crazy, and that is fine and welcome! Or maybe you do, regardless we love and desire debate and verbal intercourse on the subject coming from either side. So please, speak up if you feel strongly about one side or the other.

And again, thanks for being here!

Best Regards,

Religion Gone Crazy

May sanity be with you.™
