Crazy Religious Man arrested after allegedly walking naked through streets says “America Raped Him”

THIBODAUX — A Thibodaux man who abandoned his vehicle and began walking the streets naked was arrested early this morning, Thibodaux Police said.
Shafiq Mohamed, 26, 197 Cehan Court, was charged with obscenity after police responded to a complaint on the 2210 block of Audubon Avenue around 2 this morning.
There, police found a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Mohamed was located further up the block wearing no clothes, police said.
When approached by police, Mohamed allegedly told the officers that “America raped” him and God told him to walk the streets naked to save his soul.
As of this afternoon, Mohamed was being held in the Lafourche jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
